Great Grandma's Meatloaf

My grandson Brett came over for the weekend and he told me that his favorite meat dish was meatloaf.
So I showed him how to make my mother's meatloaf that she made for me when I was a little girl


3 lbs hamburger meat
2 eggs
3 slices bread cubed and dried in oven just to dry
1/4 cup oatmeal
15 ounces tomatoe sauce
Spices - cumin, italian spice, salt pepper and paprika
Brown Sugar,
Worchester, soy sauce

Mix the hamburger and 2 eggs with tomato sauce, mustard, brown sugar, soy sauce, Worcester and spices
Add bread crumbs and oatmeal until well blended.

Place in a loaf pan and bake for 1 hour or until done in 350 degree oven.

My Mother added diced onions and celery before cooking.

My kids did not like vegetables so I saute the vegetables in a pan and top on the meatloaf slices.
I like to add mushrooms to my sauce which my mother did not but them in her meatloaf.
You can place a first layer of meat on the pan then add a layer of the mushroom celery onion sauce and then top with the meat.
