 G O N E
He was only 11 years old.
He won't be coming home anymore.
He went to stay the night with a friend
that lived down the street.
The friends were watching television;
cops and robbers shooting each other.
The kind of stuff most kids watch.
But on that night the friend wanted to show off his Dad's gun.
They did not know the gun was loaded and deadly.
The gun shot could be heard for miles around.
The bullet went straight through the young boy's heart.
He won't be riding his bike home anymore.
It still stands against the barn. 
Today we placed daisies on his grave.
He was so very young and full of joy.
How can we let our children do these things?
How can we be so careless?
