Bulletin Boards are a wonderful way to get kids involved and motivated as well as teach ideas. Plus it adds another place to decorate for the monthly holidays!
Each time the child is successful in quoting the scripture, knowing the 9 fruits of the Spirit, and the 7 gifts of the Spirit they receive a heart with their name and the scripture on a heart. Then they place the heart on the Bulletin Board. Our goal is to have everyone have all 5 hearts on the board by Valentine's Day. The reward is a party
We used our Survival Kit Lesson with the 9 fruits of the Spirits for our bulletin board. We found pictures of 9 different fruits and matched them with a fruit of the Spirit. We added a candle to remind us to "Let our Light Shine" and a border with "Everyday" of the week listed to remind us to show our Fruits Everyday!
Jasmine is standing in front of our 4th of July Bulletin Board.
The ABC's of Advent idea was taken from an Advent calendar made by Lorna Anema & Natalie Thomas
We used silver foil wrapping paper with stars the second year that we made our advent bulletin board.
JANUARY CREATION

We cut out pictures for each day of creation and placed on the bulletin board.
FEBRUARY SILHOUETTES

* Tack red poster board on the Bulletin Board.
*Make silhouettes of each child.
Use a slide projector, spotlight or a bright lamp with shade removed to light the room. have child sit in a chair so that his or her shadow is on the wall. Hold paper against the wall and trace the child's profile with a pencil. Cut out and trace on black construction paper. Cut out black silhouette.
*Placed red and gold paper behind the silhouettes and taped them on the Bullentin Board. You could also place dollies behind the silhouettes.
*Decorate the edges of the Bulletin Board with stremers or paper. We cut out Valentine tissue paper that was edged with hearts, and placed around the board.
*Decorate with stickers of hearts or other Valentine pictures.
Now the Bulletin Board is decorated for Valentine's Day and ready to be used to display awards for memorizing scriptures of the Bible.
This month we are learning:
1. Psalm 23 ~ "The Lord is my shepherd".
2. Psalm 100 ~ "Psalm of Thanksgiving".
3. Matthew 5:1-12 ~ "The Beatitudes".
4. Galatians 5:22-25 ~ "The Fruits of the Spirit"
5. Romans 12:6-7 ~ "The Gifts from the Spirit"
FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT

EASTER
We used a Lamb pattern from Abingdon's Banners for Worship and placed the lamb on a purple posterboard. We used a yellow posterboard for the border. We cut out a cross using felt material. We placed a crown of thorns on the cross. We wrote the words "The Lamb is Slain For Me" and placed on the posterboard. This made a great Holiday reminder of the true meaning of Easter, and also reminds us of the Old Testament "Passover Lamb".JULY 4th BULLETIN BOARD

We found a great border at the school supply store. We used some clip art from our July pages and postcards from the store. Our American Angels are from dltk-bible.com. DECEMBER ADVENT BOARD
We celebrate the 12 days of Advent. This is Jamie and Jonathan with our finished advent bulletin board
* MAIN ADVENT CRAFT PROJECT:
We made an Advent Bulletin Board. This was a 6 day project. I bought a large corkboard and wrapped with blue gift paper. We outlined the edges with red ribbon. Each day we would add one object from the lesson.
Day 4 - we placed a dove on the top of bulletin board to represent the Holy Spirit.
Day 5 - we cut out 2 felt Inns
Day 6 - we placed a manager scene from Christmas card in center of board
and each child made a lamb from felt and glued cotton on top.
Day 7 - each child placed an angel on top of board
Day 8 - we placed Poinsettia lights around bullentin board after we read "The Legend of the Poinsettia." We also made presents from felt and placed on bottom of board.
Day 9 - we made twinkling stars and placed on top.
